Working in Remote Western Australia

THE CHALLENGE

A state government owned corporation contracted our customer – a civil engineering construction contractor in Western Australia – to demolish and rebuild an existing bridge over a diversion drain. To minimise traffic disruption and provide continued access to local businesses while the new bridge was built, a temporary bridge that could be erected safely, quickly and efficiently was required.

OUR SOLUTION

Mabey developed a temporary bridge solution to meet our customer’s specifications, taking into consideration load design, lane width and span requirements, in addition to site specific factors such as topography, thermal reactions and high wind loads. Mabey delivered the bridge components and gave further assistance to our customer to ensure the installation was safe, trouble-free and completed in minimal time.

Mabey provided a 30.48m single lane Compact 200™ (C200™) bridge system, our most widely used modular bridging product. This pre-engineered, rapid-build, modular steel panel bridge system features standardised, fully-interchangeable and relocatable components that deliver robust solutions for both permanent and temporary use.

THE RESULT

Mabey’s high-quality service, and innovative, safe and cost effective C200™ bridge provided our customer with a temporary bridge for traffic diversion, ensuring the build of the new bridge could proceed on time and on budget.
